The Counting of the Omer - A Weekly Reflective Study
The Counting of the Omer - A Weekly Reflective Study
The Counting of the Omer begins with Pesach.
This is a count leading up to the fourth feast or moedim, Shavuot, also known as Pentecost. For 7 weeks we count each day up to our final destination, the 50th day. This is the day that the Israelites gathered around Mount Sinai waiting on HaShem to meet with them, to make a covenant with them and to give them the Torah.
This is not a count down but rather a count UP to the mountain, to prepare our hearts to receive HaShem's gift - the Living Word! This was also the day when the beleivers were gathered in the upper room and received the Ruach HaKodesh, the Helper.
This 50th day represents the journey of our deliverance from slavery, our redemption from sin and our sanctification through the Blood of the Lamb!
This weekly study focuses on the 7 days of Creation, the links to the manifestation of the Holy Spirit and the 7 Churches.
